The recording is cut down, the voices are properly treated rather than simply balanced, and the picture is graded rather than just corrected. The episode is topped and tailed with your own intro and outro, and you get one vertical reel cut for social. Two rounds of revisions.

Before any of that: the cut
Every Advanced edit begins with trimming — filler words, false starts, dead air, fluffed takes and mouth noise taken out, while deliberate pauses and room tone stay exactly where they are. A 30-minute raw recording typically carries four to seven minutes of that material. It is the same first step as Standard Editing, which covers it in detail; everything below is what Advanced adds on top.
What audio enhancement actually does
Standard Editing balances your levels. Enhancement treats the voices themselves, through a proper processing chain applied with a light touch — heavy processing is what makes a podcast sound over-produced and tiring to listen to.
- High-pass filter around 80–100 Hz — strips rumble, handling noise and air conditioning without thinning the voice
- Noise reduction — lifts the recording off its noise floor while leaving room tone intact
- EQ — cuts muddiness in the low mids and adds presence, so speech is clear at low volume
- Compression at roughly 3:1 — evens out the gap between a quiet guest and a loud host without flattening delivery
- De-essing — tames harsh "s" and "sh" peaks, which are brutal on earbuds, without introducing a lisp
- Limiting and loudness normalisation — true peak held at or under −1.0 dBTP and the episode normalised to about −16 LUFS
That −16 LUFS figure matters more than it sounds. It is Apple Podcasts' target; Spotify sits slightly louder at −14. Deliver outside that window and the platform normalises your episode for you — usually by turning it down, which is why some shows sound weak next to others in the same feed. Mastering to the standard means your episode plays back at the loudness your listener expects.
Colour grading, not just correction
Standard Editing includes colour correction — neutralising exposure and white balance so cutting between cameras is invisible. Grading is the step after: setting a deliberate look. Contrast, warmth and the way the studio's tuneable RGB lighting reads on camera are shaped to suit your brand rather than left at whatever the sensor recorded.
It is the difference between footage that is technically fine and footage that looks like it belongs to a show.
Intro, outro and your reel

Your episode is topped and tailed consistently — music bed, branded opening and a close that points people at whatever you want them to do next. Same treatment every episode, so the show becomes recognisable in the first five seconds.
One vertical reel
A short vertical cut pulled from the strongest moment of the episode, framed 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts. This is the clip that actually travels — most people meet a podcast through a 40-second vertical long before they ever press play on a full episode.
Advanced or Standard?
Standard Editing (£75) covers up to 60 minutes and gives you a clean, publishable episode: cuts, syncing, basic colour correction, two revisions.
Advanced Editing (£130) covers up to 90 minutes and adds audio enhancement, colour grading, your intro and outro, and one vertical reel. It is the right choice once the show is running regularly and consistency matters more than getting one episode out.
Premium Editing (£175) adds three reels, a show highlight, captions and a third revision. All three sit side by side on the podcast editing page. Prices exclude VAT.
Common questions
Do I need to supply intro and outro music?
If you already have branding, send it and we will use it consistently. If you do not, tell us the feel you are after and we will talk through options before the first episode.
What if my episode is under 60 minutes?
Advanced is still worth it if you want enhancement, grading, branding and a reel — the 90-minute allowance is a ceiling, not a requirement. If you only need it clean, Standard Editing at £75 is the cheaper route.
Can I buy extra reels?
Premium Editing includes three reels plus a show highlight and captions. If you want more than that, or reels from an episode edited to Standard, ask for a quote.
Do I have to record at your studio?
No. Send us your files and we will work from those. If you record at the studio, your raw audio and 4K video go straight into the edit.
