Why Video

Audio gets listeners. Video gets found.

A video podcast works harder than an audio-only show. The same conversation becomes a YouTube episode, a clip on TikTok, a Reel on Instagram and a Short — every platform where new audiences actually discover shows. That's why most of the fastest-growing podcasts are now recorded on camera.

Our video podcast studio in Manchester is built for exactly that. Every session records in 4K on two Sony A7C II full-frame cameras — the same class of camera used on professional productions — with a professional lighting setup, broadcast-quality RØDE microphones and a RØDECaster Pro II mixer keeping the audio to podcast standard. You get clean, synced video and audio files from every seat.

Run the session yourself with dry hire, or book Studio + Professional and a dedicated engineer handles camera operation, audio monitoring and lighting optimisation while you and your guests focus on the conversation.

After the Session

From recording to reels.

You leave every session with the raw 4K video and multitrack audio — yours to keep and edit however you like. If you'd rather publish than edit, our in-house post production takes the episode the rest of the way: trimming, colour grading, audio enhancement, intros and outros from £130 per episode, and the Premium package adds three vertical reels, a show highlight and captions — everything a video podcast needs to travel on social.

See the full breakdown on our packages page, or compare hire options on podcast studio hire.

FAQs

Video podcast questions.

What cameras does the studio use?

Two Sony A7C II full-frame cameras, recording in 4K, come as standard with every session — paired with prime and zoom lenses (35mm f/1.4, 24-70mm f/2.8, 16-55mm f/2.8). A Sony a6700 is available as a third camera for £20 per hour, giving you up to three angles.

How much does it cost to record a video podcast in Manchester?

Video is included in every hire — there's no video surcharge. Dry studio hire is £69.99 per hour +VAT, Studio + Professional with a dedicated engineer is £94.99 per hour, and a full day (up to 8 hours with engineer) is £599.

Do I need to know how to operate cameras?

No. With dry hire the cameras are framed and rolling before you start. With Studio + Professional, a dedicated engineer operates the cameras, monitors audio and optimises the lighting throughout your session.

What files do I get after the session?

Synced 4K video from each camera plus multitrack audio — raw files, yours to keep. Storage is free for the first 48 hours, then £30 per episode for up to 2 months.

Can you edit the video podcast for me?

Yes. Editing packages start at £75 per episode; Advanced (£130) adds colour grading, intros and outros and one vertical reel, and Premium (£175) includes three reels, a show highlight and captions.

Can I get clips for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?

Yes — vertical reels are built into the Advanced and Premium editing packages, cut from your episode and captioned ready to post.

How many people can be on camera?

Up to 4 guests, each with their own microphone, framed across the two-camera setup.

Do you have a teleprompter?

Yes — a teleprompter is available as an add-on for £25 per hour, useful for intros, ads and scripted segments.

Can I brand the set for my show?

Yes — the set includes a TV branding screen for your show's artwork and customisable backgrounds, so your episodes look like yours rather than a rented room.

Where is the studio and when is it open?

First Floor, Unit 7, 116-118 Bury New Road, Manchester M8 8EB — minutes from the city centre. Open 9am–6pm, seven days a week.

Lights are already set.
